PLANTING TREES USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DRONES?

This is a post of the World Economic Forum on using drones to combat deforestation. It states that "UK company Dendra plans to plant 500 billion trees by 2060 - using AI and drones."

Essentially, Dendra uses a combination of satellite imaging and drone data in order to identify replanting areas. Drones then shoot germinated seeds into the ground. Once there is rainfall or water, the trees will start growing. Dendra is creating an autonomous system of replanting the forest completely.

This is a really interesting post on how AI and drones are used to combat deforestation. Since the post was from 2019, much progress and advancements have been made in order to progress this school of thought. I believe that this is vital currently as many countries are battling deforestation and forest fires.
